our journey

It all began when Neomi was studying to become a nurse at Kingston University. As part of her training, she was given an assignment to write a risk assessment essay. The task required her to identify challenges faced by nurses and patients in a hospital setting and propose solutions. It was during this process that Neomi focused on the prevalence of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).

As she delved deeper into her research, Neomi was struck by the fact that 25,000 people in the UK die annually from DVT. What stood out to her was how many patients struggled to put on the tight compression stockings designed to prevent it. This was especially true for elderly individuals, who often gave up altogether. Nurses faced their own challenges too, finding the task of applying the stockings difficult and time-consuming.

Neomi became determined to tackle this problem. She felt a strong sense of responsibility to make a difference. At home, she began experimenting with various materials and types of stockings, tirelessly working on a solution. After much trial and error, she created her first prototype. To refine her idea, Neomi organised focus groups with nurses and patients, and not long after, Neo-slip® was born.

Neo-slip® is a simple yet innovative product. It comes in three colour-coded sizes and is essentially a low-friction pouch that slides over the foot before putting on the compression stocking. This creates a smooth, lubricated effect, making it much easier to apply the stockings.

Neomi didn’t stop there. She applied for a patent, worked out the manufacturing details, designed the packaging, and launched Neo-slip®. Today, Neo-slip® is supplied to pharmacies across the UK, Europe, the USA, and Canada, making a real difference in the lives of both patients and healthcare professionals.
