Modern Slavery Statement
Neo-Innovations UK Ltd, trading as Neo-Slip
Introduction
This statement sets out the steps Neo-Innovations UK Ltd, trading as Neo-Slip, takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chain. Because of our size, we are not required to publish a statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We publish one voluntarily, because we believe every business has a part to play and our customers, including the NHS, rightly expect it.
We do not tolerate modern slavery, forced or compulsory labour, child labour or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain.
Our organisation
Neo-Innovations UK Ltd (company number 07882638) is a small UK company and the legal manufacturer of Neo-Slip, a Class I medical device that helps people put on compression stockings. We supply NHS Supply Chain, healthcare distributors and customers who buy directly from us. The business is run by its two directors with a small number of people who help them.
Our supply chain
Our principal product suppliers and contract assembler are based in the UK:
- Physical assembly is performed by an approved contract assembler in Nottingham.
- Body fabric comes from a fabric supplier in London.
- Handle webbing comes from a supplier in West Yorkshire.
- Care labels and printed packaging come from suppliers in Nottingham.
- Polybags come from a packaging supplier in Coventry.
We deal with each of these suppliers directly.
Where the risks are
We consider the risk of modern slavery among these direct product suppliers to be low: they are UK businesses that we know and deal with directly. The higher risk lies further back in the supply chain, in the raw materials our suppliers buy, in particular textiles such as polyester fabric and webbing. We have not yet established where all of these materials are made, and this is the focus of the actions below.
Our policies and checks
- Under our quality management system, suppliers are approved before we use them, our main suppliers are evaluated each year, and we keep a list of approved suppliers.
- We will not knowingly work with any supplier involved in modern slavery or human trafficking, and we would end a relationship where we found it and it was not put right.
What we will do in the next 12 months
- Ask our fabric and webbing suppliers where their materials are made, and how they check their own suppliers.
- Ask our direct product suppliers and contract assembler to confirm that they do not tolerate modern slavery in their own business and supply chains.
- Add a modern slavery commitment to our terms with suppliers.
- Complete the NHS Modern Slavery Assessment Tool.
- Make sure everyone who works with us knows how to recognise the signs of modern slavery and how to report a concern.
Reporting a concern
Anyone with a concern about modern slavery connected to our business can raise it with our directors in confidence by emailing legal@neo-slip.co.uk. Concerns can also be reported to the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700, and anyone in immediate danger should call 999.
